Founded in 2003, Armandito Productions is a registered private Cuban Music Entertainment business, trading in Sydney and Central Coast NSW, Australia.

We are committed to be the paramount ambassadors of Latin music entertainment and performance arts heritage in the industry, offering quality Cuban Salsa Bands and Shows in a range of formats, as well as, DJ Service, Professional Sound Equipment, Sound Mixing, Lighting, and Audio Visual entertainment services for Corporate Functions and Private Events, Festivals, Concerts, Nightclubs, Performing Arts Centre and the Tourism Industry.

Also offers a high quality professional arranging and compositions for both educational, commercial, and artistic purposes.

Founder Director

Armando Garcia, also known as Armandito, is a Cuban trumpeter, musical director, bandleader, composer, arranger and music educator. Armandito first came to Australia in 2002 with the legendary group Sonora La Calle and the internationally acclaimed Cuban show ‘Lady Salsa’. Since making Australia his home, he has made a huge contribution to the flourishing live Cuban Music and Entertainment scene in Sydney, and dedicated significant time in education supporting private music tuition at public and catholic schools in NSW.

Early years in the “Cradle of Son”

Armando is a native of the south-eastern Cuban city, Santiago de Cuba, which has been dubbed “The Cradle of Son”, as it is the birthplace of many traditional styles of Cuban music. Armando’s passion and talent for music was evident from a young age. At twelve, Armando commenced his studies in music at the elite Esteban Salas Conservatorium in Santiago. His qualifications include a Certificate of Music Majoring in Trumpet Performance, Bachelor of Music Degree majoring in Musical Groups Conductor – Teacher, and TAE10110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Professional career

Since 1990, he has pursued a national and international musical career as a trumpeter, musical director, bandleader, composer and arranger working in collaboration with numerous musical projects including Orchestra Los Tainos, Magic Sax Quartet, Sonora La Calle, Lady Salsa Show, Armandito & Trovason, Cuban Night’s Show and Sydney’s Afro-Cuban Orchestra. He has also collaborated with different international record labels and Music Entertainment Companies such as EGREM- Cuba, Adam Spiegel Productions, England, All Starts Artists (Australia).

He has toured extensively throughout Europe, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific Islands, performing in world class venues such as Ronny Scott’s in London, The New Morning in Paris, The Star City Casino, Melbourne Crown Casino, Queensland Performing Arts Centre and the Sydney Opera House. He has also performed at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland, Bellingen Jazz Festival, Darling Harbour Fiesta Festival and Manly Jazz Festival. Having the privilege of sharing the stage with worldwide renowned artists such as Buena Vista Social Club, Los Van Van, Wynton Marsalis and many others.

Armando Garcia is currently, a member of The Australian Performing Right Association (APRA), Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society (AMCOS), ABODA – NSW Australian Band and Orchestra Directors Association – NSW Branch and The Musicians Union of Australia, as well as, a full member and accredited as a private Music Teacher for Trumpet, Piano, Conducting and Music Theory through the Music Teachers Association of NSW.
